  •  I agree. The Republicans will use their (4+ / 0-)

    superior propaganda machine to tar and feather not just the Dem party, but any Dem who votes to cut Social Security. I suspect the Rethugs are holding out for the worst thing possible so Dems will have a hard time defending themselves. Meanwhile, the chained CPI is such a cruel and arbitrary act of destructon against the most successful social insurance program in the US that many Dems will refrain from voting in 2014.

      goes through.  Loyal Dems will become lukewarm about voting, and those who are motivated will want to punish the party.  It's suicidal politically to be the side that put SS cuts on the table if those cuts actually go through.

      Some men see things as they are and ask why. I dream of things that never were and ask why not?

        not unlike his turn to the right after 2009, when disillusioned Dems stayed away from the polls, which ushered in a wave of Tea Party nutbags.
