High supposed to be in the forties this afternoon.

The race weekend of racing at Bristol is going to be iffy due to forecast of rain.  Having race weekend at one of the most popular tracks in all of NASCAR racing is, as I said before, like having the Superbowl come to your small town twice a year.

In recognition of the drivers and their unbelievable skill behind the wheel, here is a little production put together by one of Jeff Gordon's sponsors, Pepsi.  For those who do not know who Jeff Gordon is, he is winner of four Winston (now Sprint) Cups, which is the racing version of a national championship. Sportswriters who cover racing consider Jeff Gordon to one of the best three or four drivers in the history of NASCAR racing. Pepsi arranged for Jeff to "test drive" a car at a Chevy dealership.  Apparently everyone was in on it but the hapless car salesman. Jeff is also sponsored by Chevrolet.

Here is Jeff Gordon as "Mike" test driving a Chevy Camaro.

about made me spew my own oatmeal.  The Camaro Jeff drives in the Cup races has 850 horsepower, and no muffler.

        Not that much power indeed!

    •  American vs. British humor (0+ / 0-)

--In American humor, we identify with the perpetrator, and the victim looks like an ass.

Yes, I know the whole thing was a fake, but this is  supposed to be funny because some guy is getting bullied while he's trying to do his job? Fat awkward guy gets bullied by cool kid, but it's OK because it's the cool kid, and at least he wasn't picking on us?

Sorry to be such a ray of sunshine, but I find this type of humor to be very distasteful--It goes against my sense of justice. :)
