It has gotten bad enough that I physically cringe when I read and hear some of the things people say.  For claiming that we are a Christian nation, I certainly don't see that in a lot of the behavior I see toward the President.  Nobody was exorcised when Laura chose reading as her cause.  Nobody accused her of trying to infiltrate the schools and force our children to read or force their parents to read to them.  It was a suggestion as to how to improve their lives and their opportunities.  Michelle Obama suggests eating less fast food and choosing healthier foods and exercising and she is demonized.  I don't know how the two of them don't explode.  It has to be so demoralizing to be treated in such a demeaning way.  It actually hurts my heart.

they must have experience through their lives?  This is playing out on a global screen the subtle and blatant practices of racism which, no matter what Scalia says, is still part of our society.

Still gotta pay the ol' black tax, ya know.  Work twice as hard, for half the pay, and none of the benefits which would otherwise be afforded to those with lesser qualifications and accomplishments.

I always think of the Black Tax when I heard pundits stating the President must lead, he must reach out to the repubs, he must gain THEIR trust, and on and on.  The onus is always on him.  They never seem to think the GOP has any responsibility in anything.
