So what he could do would probably be limited if he is still around then.

Democrats are still very strong in Acadiana on a legislative level, running 25-30 points above Obama regularly.

And I just remembered I failed to mention Edwards' made Bill Clinton look tame in the affairs department and the open secret they were, and he also used to go to Las Vegas and lose hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash, under fake aliases. He literally gambled away huge sums of money from unknown sources, and would walk into Vegas with brief cases of cash. My grandfather told me, when I asked him, that Edwards used to get bribes by gambling and having businessman lose 10-20 thousand dollars to him on purpose.

to an ambitious liar like Bobby Jindal. And Edwards was generally remarkably candid about his crookedness. And hey, whether he forced folks to pay him to give them casino licenses really didn't do any harm to the people of Louisiana, since the casinos were getting built anyway, and they did bring a lot of tax money and economic growth, just like planned.

Interestingly enough, Edwin Edwards is also a teetolar who has never smoke.
