    tend to run 1,000 pages or more.  It's hard to believe any of these 'luminaries' actually read what's in them.  All of the bills' architects (and their colleagues in Congress) simply shoe-horn in what their big campaign donors want and then wash their hands of it.

      members of the US Congress were Attorneys at Law, was that their political work required they be able to read and write legal briefs.

      One more reason to loathe our modern Congress, they don't read the legislation the vote into Law, because the Bills are too complex.

      Perhaps the answer is not for them to fail to read the Bills. Perhaps the answer is to write Bills which are less complex and less wordy.

      Just a thought.

        You're preachin' to the converted!
        I also think term limits (like one term per senator/rep) would be a good way to simplify the federal government.  Simplification by necessity.
