    that much anymore anyway, and further reducing the diversity of content will only exacerbate this trend as they become more and more a niche product.

    So the question is, will the Kochs playing Murdoch and turning these publications into WSJ clones expand their reach and influence by drowning out alternative voices? I think a more likely income is that fewer people will read these newspapers, and it will only further erode the newspaper and print media as institutions - which is OK! The Internet is a thing.

    If I'm remembering right, I think I read recently that the WSJ is a money loser for Murdoch. I looked up the circulation figures not too long ago and it was about 2 million. All of this to say, I guess, is that buying up newspapers is a very Republican idea, inasmuch as rich old white men have a rather poor grasp on how technology has dramatically changed the way information is disseminated.

    TL;DR - more conservative newspapers will mean fewer newspaper readers, not more conservatives. The market is saturated and in decline anyway.
