    as any sort of agnostic or atheist, let alone a believer in deities other than the Abrahamic God.

      There is to be no religious test. The Constitution says that. However, just as I am unlikely to vote for a fundamentalist theist of any stripe, I am also unlikely to vote for a militant atheist because both display intolerance of others and their consciences. I am, however, certainly prepared to vote for any atheist or theist who supports a progressive agenda, the separation of church and state, peace, a restoration of personal liberties and rights (that is, would support the repeal of the PATRIOT act), and who is willing to leave me alone and let me worship as I please.

        that you could not win a run for President, Senator or Governor as a known atheist. A majority of believers in God would not trust someone who does not.
