  •  This!!! I've tried watching HLN, but (6+ / 0-)

there is so much "fluff" (she said, trying to be civil) and so little news, it isn't worth the effort.  Thank goodness for the intert00bz.

That said, there is still a lot of good stuff that entertains or enlightens:
    Sons of Anarchy
Walking Dead (followed by Talking Dead!)
    Person Of Interest
    CSI (yes, even now!)
    The History Channel
    BBC America

I don't watch "reality" tv, as there is damned little reality and not enough anything else in it for me. ymmv ;-)

What a nice break from all the seriousness of the day this diary has been!  Thanks!

We cannot call ourselves a civilised society if we refuse to protect the weakest among us.

    •  Ok, you're adding to the drum beat (4+ / 0-)

for Walking Dead and Grimm.  Don't know about Person of Interest.  What's that about?

Glad you enjoyed the break from seriousness. We have got to learn to love our shallow sides too. ;)

    •  Thought I was the only one who watches Grimm. (5+ / 0-)

Filmed in Portland, so I know most of the sites and scenes.

Thought I'd like Portlandia, but grew tired of it soon.

Science is hell bent on consensus. Dr. Michael Crichton said “Let’s be clear: The work of science has nothing to do with consensus... which is the business of politics. Science, on the contrary, requires only one investigator who happens to be right,”

lamented Fringe. Once-Upon-a... we're taping it but not watching... it's a pretty big energy sink, but interesting.

I live down the valley, but grew up with Portland being "the City", so we went up a fair amount. LOTS of recognizable locations, even for an "Oregon-Valley-Girl", 8-)

YES, Caviezel is gorgeous, if you like 'em tall & wiry & quiet, 8-) also a PNW boy. We really like Person of Interest, and Elementary. Castle (FILLION!) are waiting impatiently for Warehouse 13 return.

NCIS, of course, but do NOT see the point of NCIS:LA. The original is a great ensemble; LA seems to be just another police procedural with a not-very-interesting cast.

Those are the ones all 3 of us watch. Kiddo & I have a couple of others that DH can't stand (Touch, Falling Skies, Community)

waiting impatiently also for Primeval:New World to show up, on SyFy, eventually!

"real" work : a job where you wash your hands BEFORE you use the bathroom...
