It is a great show.  The episode with Parker Posey where he goes on a first-date is as artistic as a short story.  Really quality work.

But am intrigued when you compare it to the artistry of a good short story. Short stories are very demanding of talent---primarily in the way they demand brevity and focus, the ability to spin a tale without a word wasted. To create a beginning, middle and end without using three hundred to a thousand pages to do so.

My favorite literary form because of just that.

"Louie" is Louis C.K.'s show on the FX channel.  If you are not a fan of his humor then it might not be for you but he is such an innovator that his own personal show is a reflection of his desire to remake the form of a 1/2 hour comedy show.

I looked it up on IMDB and just realized that Parker Posey did several episodes with this character.  But the one episode I was referring to was Season 3, Episode 5 " "Daddy's Girlfriend: Part 2".   Now that I know there actually was more with her I am still glad I just caught this one because it stands alone so beautifully.
