  •  Hi flumpty and everyone. I was (4+ / 0-)

stuck in stoopid meetings all day long today. I really hate it when my job interferes with my internetting. But what can you do. I hope everyone had a good day!

Oh, and I love that piece of industrial chic jewelry - very nice!

    •  Hi StateOfGrace, I was missing your pretty face (4+ / 0-)

earlier today. Sorry you were stuck in stupid meetings all day.

      •  Good morning and thank you for (4+ / 0-)

missing me yesterday, flumpty. Right after I posted that comment last night, I got a phone call that lasted longer than expected and I never got back here.

I was hoping we would have a sunny day today but it's a bit overcast right now. We had some very strange weather yesterday - I think it actually got up to almost 60 degrees!

        •  Good morning, it's 60 degrees here right now. (4+ / 0-)

I couldn't believe it was so warm. The sky is bright white. It looks like the sky is full of snow. How are Pearl and Mabel and Cora?

          •  I'm not sure what our (4+ / 0-)

temperature is right now but it feels colder today than it was yesterday. But Louise has been wanting to go outside a lot this morning - so, I guess it's not too cold out there.

I have a funny Cora, Mabel, and Pearl story to tell you about something that happened the other morning. It was so hilarious and it still makes me laugh every time I think about it. I was in the bathroom getting ready for work when I saw Mabel and Cora chasing each other around the house. This is something they have been doing a lot lately and it seemed friendly enough. Well, I guess Cora caught up with Mabel and touched her or something because I heard Mabel hiss and then scream (like only a cat can do). I ran out of the bathroom into my bedroom where Cora and Mabel were. By that point, Cora had realized she'd done something wrong and was backing away from Mabel. Then, out of nowhere, Pearl runs into the room, goes up to Cora, and then I swear to God she balled up her little paw and PUNCHED Cora in the face. Poor Cora looked like she couldn't believe what had just happened. She looked over at me and I was trying very hard not to burst out laughing. As Cora and I were walking back to the bathroom, I told her that she'd better watch it because it looks like little Mabel has a bodyguard.

    •  LOL me too (4+ / 0-)

      Pesky job. ;-D

It was a huge deadline project for me...and like Nigel's amp, it went to 11. Now I'm up again and I need to go back to sleep for a couple of hours because I am beat.

I'm firmly convinced I would not have made it through yesterday without the good puppy energy from Thursday.

I ♥ the jewelry too. flumpty -- wonder if you could do marbleized effects with the nailpolish? I know you can make little dots and swirls & stuff by applying the polish with the head of a pin (you stick the pin into a pencil eraser to make a longer tool to work with). That might give you the bling you're looking for (though it is nice just the way it is, too).

      •  I'm glad your deadline is over. I hope you get to (4+ / 0-)

have a relaxing weekend. Puppies are wonderful.
That would be fun to make some of those cute designs like people make in coffee with whipped cream.

        •  Easy to do. (4+ / 0-)

You can practice before you work on the actual piece. It's basically concentric circles or lines, and you drag the point of a pin or toothpick through them, which pulls the lines into those shapes. Look on YouTube and you should find some videos to show you how. :-)
