    on this says that how you vote in your first election has a good chance of changing but voting for the second time for the same party's candidate hardens your support for life to a very strong degree.  So barring massive upheaval most Kerry-Obama-Obama voters are likely to remain democrats as are Obama-Obama voters.  The ones to watch are the Obama-Romneys and McCain-Obamas.  This doesn't mean individual voters don't change, but that once the pattern is established it takes more.
