  •  I question whether starting a civil suit right (7+ / 0-)

    now would be wise.  The emotional toll of being involved in a lawsuit is incredible, regardless of how much merit there is to it.  There's already so much stress on this family right now, it seems to me focusing on the court actions already existing and on getting their son through school is probably the more important fight.  A civil suit can wait until the primary goals have been accomplished, if it then seems like it would serve a purpose.  Although it's a personal decision that needs to be made by the family.  I'm only commenting because people seem to throw out a "sue them" without recognizing the stress doing so will create.
