school and had experience, I wasn't concerned at first when I had to look for new employment.  Then, it took over two years to find any kind of employment at all.  Even the contract work dried up after a few months.  I was so tired of hearing "over-qualified."  Then my health issues reared up and, of course, I'm in my mid-50's. I actually ended up homeless for about seven months in late 2010- early 2011.  So, now I'm working for a pittance for a small company that specializes in litigation support services but I have a roof over my head and an insurance card that gets me through the doctor's door, but not much more.  Some days, it's depressing.

Then again, I remember there are others in my village without even the roof over their heads; without the poor excuse of an insurance card; and those who have no food tonight, or tomorrow.  Yeah, I know why I vote Democrat, why I'm proud to vote Democrat. I know why I recoil in disbelief when someone says there's no difference between a Democrat and a Republican. Give me an imperfect Democrat over a Romney, Ryan, Boehner, Cruz, et al, every single time.

You are my brother, my sister.
