Progressives campaign and I have an idea about how to reframe the messaging to get more Democrats on board to opposing the cuts to Social Security and Medicare.  I am making the argument that Senior Citizens always come out and vote in every election.  Our base isn't always guaranteed to come out in midterm elections but Senior Citizens vote in every election.  So here's my proposal; remind Democrats about that and instead make 2014 the battle over the Senior vote.  It's great that they object to the Paul Ryan budget and have kept up that fight but they need to be reminded that groups like American Crossroads will do exactly what this diary said they will and in order to avoid those attacks, reject those cuts to the safety net and hit Republicans for wanting to make these cuts to the programs.  That way, you take away the Republicans key part of their base, older white voters.  They do that, Senior Citizens will reward them at the polls.

I fully expect them to outflank us on the left on certain issues, at the very least in their campaign ads.  They've done it before in 2010 making themselves into the saviors of Medicare.

But I should read more carefully instead of reading really quickly when I am busy with something else, and end up doing more of a scan than a read.

from making a bigger fool of myself but repeating this further, so again, thanks!  I'm watching the Levin hearing and taking notes so I was not giving this my full attention.
