  •  you can't be poor and gay, a site recently said (6+ / 0-)

it's not possible to live such a fabulous life of endless debauchery on pennies destined for millionaires.

    cheerleaders need not apply.

It will cheer them up to know they're not. LOL.

    •  In 1992 when "Amendment 2" (1+ / 0-)

was on the ballot in Colorado, one of the talking points used by proponents was just that - "homosexuals are on average wealthier than average Americans".

Amendment 2 was intended to enshrine in Colorado's Constitution the idea that LGBT cannot be a protected class when it comes to anti-discrimination laws. The #1 talking point used by proponents was that it simply prevented LGBT from obtaining "special rights".

The measure passed but a few years later was thrown out by the Romer v Evans case in 1996.

And guess what? This is another tidbit of my former RWNJ self. In 1991 as a 22-year-old College Republican, I was one who collected petition signatures to get it on the ballot.

liberal bias = failure to validate or sufficiently flatter the conservative narrative on any given subject
