I think the word fits.  The idea that "progressives" are the enemy and that Obama should give in to Republicans to "get something done" is not the position of any mainstream or conservative Democrat.  It seems an embrace of the Republican war on America.

I hear you about "namecalling" but the word popped into my mind.

The only "deal" possible is to make it 100% entitlement cuts.  That quote suggests rejecting more than 75% of Dem senators and congressmen and governing with Republcian support.  And we know from the past that even if Obama tried, the Republicans would make new demands to prevent Obama "from getting something done."

If the People's View is what I think it is, the people there are alienated from Democrats, supporting Obama, but not his policies.

Marcus at least is not suggesting wholesale capitulation to Paul Ryan.

Frankly, I dignified the People's View's position by even responding far more than it deserves.

based on conversations I've had with Philly Dems in the street in the last month (I'm active at the street level in our DA's re-election bid)

I ask a random middle aged working class black lady on the streets of Philly about stuff like this and they, WAY more often than not, tell me that nobody's giving the president a chance, especially "liberals" (said like they want to spit)

these are yellow dogs, Tom, my town is deep blue.  I know anecdote isn't data, so I guess my issue is your use of the word "any."

a statement not meant to be taken literally.

I oppose a war on "liberals" that people at the People's View support.  I find them to be as self-marginalizing as those who constantly attack Barack Obama, supposedly from the left.

Barack Obama is not going to sell out Democrats.

The People's View is the flip side of those who argue Obama is going to do a "Great Betrayal."  They want him to do a "Great Betrayal" because they think progressives were mean to Barack Obama.

I reject both poles of that sterile and stupid debate.  I refuyse to accept the "Great Betrayl" narrative, whether for or against it.

I'm a Democrat, a liberal, a progressive, and I support Barack Obama and think he's  been a good president overall.

so am I.  yet I agree with TPV more than you.  so there's NO NEED for the insults.

don't gimme the weaselly "shoe fits" argument that permeates the rox/sux wars either.  just please cut it out.
