    She is from Arizona, not California. Watched her on Chris Hayes show today and very impressed with her.

        I couldn't vote for Kyrsten in the federal election because of the way the districts are drawn, but I'm happy to see her get to DC--the first openly bisexual member of Congress.

        Before the last election changed the makeup (with Kyrsten leaving and another old-timer retiring), whenever people used to rant about Phoenix being too conservative, I'd remind them of our legislative district: 1 Democratic Senator and 2 Democratic Representatives, of which 1 was openly gay and 1 was openly bi. That changed in 2012, but we're still all Dem! If only our district controlled the legislature.
