A friend of mine and I were out late one night in Palo Alto years ago on a Thanksgiving night.... We happened upon an Irish bar that had a Thanksgiving Buffet. What a great night, drinking Murphy's off the Cask and eating a mix of traditional Thanksgiving foods and Irish foods. That was a lot of fun. I'm still amazed they had Murphy's off cask.

Tonight I started with a Port Mongo, now I'm sipping on a Stone Sublimely Self-Righteous IPA.

    Life is good tonight.

I think I know Palo Alto pretty well and don't remember an Irish place. Where were you?

I don't think it's still there. I'm going to drop my friend a line and see if he remembers where it was.

a few weeks ago I was in P.A. with a friend, walking up and down University ave. reminiscing about places we'd eaten and drunk that are gone now. I think the only restaurant left on University from when I lived in that neighborhood in the 80s is a Round Table Pizza.

          •  When I get a reply back from my friend (0+ / 0-)

I'll post it here, even if it's not tonight.

I just remember we were a couple of single guys who had been drinking for hours already, probably our own, bad, homebrews, and got hungry. Figured someone out there would have Thanksgiving dinner.

The Irish pub was called O'Connell's. It was in what is now the Three Seasons restaurant on Bryant st.
