    based similar procedure ought to make the meat turn out equally well in texture. The difference would be down to flavorings and veggies or whatever cooked along with it.

    I'd recommend googling something like "cook brisket" and I bet you'll find a slew of references. My experience is that I look for approaches that have a lot of support, and I also lean towards any that go into some explanation of how and why they work.
