That said the Juanita Broderick (sp) incident(?) has been litigated and relitigated for 20 years now. And even among remaining Clinton haters (a surprisingly large cohort) only the sleaziest would characterize it as 'forcible' without qualification.

Which doesn't mean they don't laugh and lap up the language when they hear it from arch-hater Coulter. Because they all recognize the reference, along with 'Mena Airport' and 'Vince Foster'.

Haters gotta hate. And be fed. Which is Coulter's role. - SocSec.Defender at - founder DK Social Security Defenders group - (hmm is there a theme emerging here?)

      •  Even some left-wingers have fallen for it (0+ / 0-)

I've known a few far-leftists who abandoned Clinton over the Juanita Broadrick case. (One of them memorably supported the impeachment, too, on the grounds that she believed Bill had raped Monica, never mind that all accounts agree it was she who initiated the relationship.) Even on our side of the aisle, there is a surprisingly large group of people who remain ignorant of how the right wing shit machine works.

I, of course, never miss a chance to explain to them that Broadrick was bankrolled by people who 1) had literally made a full-time job of destroying Clinton, and 2) never gave a damn about violence against women before or after that one case. The strongest evidence they had to offer, if I recall correctly, was that she cited an exact date of the rape and the records show Clinton was in Little Rock on that date (in 1978 I believe). It doesn't seem to have occurred to them that Clinton was state AG and a candidate for governor at the time, so it wouldn't be hard at all to pull some records and find a date in 1978 when anyone could say exactly where he was.
