is that drag racing is much more diverse, and has been for decades. Shirley Muldowney won three Top Fuel championships beginning way back in 1977, five years before Danica Patrick was born. There are plenty of women and minorities competing at the highest levels of drag racing today. The current Top Fuel champion, Antron Brown, is African American. There are two women and a man from Dubai competing against him. There are two female drivers in the Funny Car class, and two Hispanic brothers who both drive and own their own FC teams (both brothers have been champions of that class too). Erica Enders won three races in the Pro Stock class in 2012. Angelle Sampey won three championships and 68 races in Pro Stock Motorcycle during her career; only one man has won more races in the history of the class. Hispanic rider Hector Arana won the PSM championship a couple of years ago.
