but the casting for this project was neither subliminal nor subconscious. They made very deliberate choices and thought they'd be able to skate on to ratings heaven.
They sought to reinforce all the stereotypes black people have had to bear since slavery: White equals good, pure, heavenly. Black equals bad, sinister, evil.
I heard about this series and wanted to watch it. I caught the Samson episode on the Lifetime channel.
Samson was portrayed by a black actor who, for some (not so) strange reason, came off as being mentally challenged.
Caught that? All brawn and no brain.
Despite overwhelming evidence that the earthly Jesus would have all the physical characteristic of his Middle East heritage, this husband and wife team decided to cast a "lily-white" wannabe sex symbol to portray him.
Why do people who profess to be followers of Christ have such a difficulty with the truth? The irony.

Maya Angelou: "Without courage, we cannot practice any other virtue with consistency. We can't be kind, true, merciful, generous, or honest."

I am going to google the producers now and see if I can find what their political leanings are...sorry but i am not familiar with them.
