    anyone can condescend, it's human nature. We all do it from time to time, rightly or wrongly. Mansplaining bespeaks a particular arrogance that stems from claiming an assumed hierarchical prerogative within a patriarchal system. There are sometimes women who assume this advantage (Malkin, Jennifer Rubin) and sometimes men who find themselves the target (Scarborough v. Krugman is a good example). Gun Rights Absolutists tend to do a lot of mansplaining, even if the object of their belittlement is another male. O'Reilly is constantly attempting to assert his manlier-ness to other males in this way. Though he more often than not resorts directly to shouting and name-calling, which is not mansplaining, it's simply verbal abuse.
