    Even over the next decade -- before the cost of entitlements really explodes -- Social Security and federal health care programs (includes Medicare, Medicaid, the ACA) alone -- without interest on the debt, without defense, without anything else -- will be 53% of the budget.  And that's over the next decade, before things get REALLY bad.

    Ten to twenty years from now, the federal government is going to be providing retirement and health care benefits, and paying interest on the debt, and not much else, unless the trajectory is changed.
