for a $65/hr software contract. We bounced around a bunch of concepts and then the guy asked me one specific SQL question. Finally, he said he had two more interviews the next morning but I would hear back by COB the next day.

Ten minutes later the agency called and said I had the gig. I said they must have misunderstood because the guy said he had two more people to interview. They said he said he was blowing those guys off because I had known the answer to one question.

    Ya never know! Good luck!

told me he was interviewing through next week, I asked him why he needs to interview those guys when he already has me... he seemed to get a kick out of it

when I see a republican on tv, I always think of Monty Python: "Shut your festering gob you tit! Your type makes me puke!"

        To balance it out:

I once drove from Boston to Philly to interview with a cable company. My interview was with two very junior but very self-impressed young fellows and  we were at cross-purposes from the get-go. I quickly knew I wouldn't get it - or wouldn't take it if offered.

So: Rather early in the discussion, they asked me an ultra-simple - which I regarded as just demeaning - question of the form "Do you know the difference between ... and ...?" This is one of those opportunities that comes along once in a lifetime and so I responded "Yes." Then we sat. And sat. Until finally I said "Oh. You want me to tell YOU what the difference is?"

        At least I left laughing.
