    activities other than that she's a lifelong Dem and self-described progressive who supports various progressive causes such as women's safety and rights, I'd venture to guess that if she runs, it'll be because she thinks she can do some good, and because she (and the DNC/DSCC) believes that who she is (both the appealing celebrity and more substantive aspects) gives her a better chance than most other Dems of beating Mitch.

    It's not like we haven't done this before, in both red and blue states, e.g. Hillary in NY and Webb in VA, i.e. people who've been around politics in non-elected positions for years, running for high office. There's also Franken in MN. I'm not personally a fan of recruiting well-known people to run for office, preferring that people who've actually worked in politics run for office. But I guess that's for the Dem voters of KY to decide on, not me.
