Why even invite someone like that on the radio so they can muddy the water as to what they did? In a just world, Perle and his co-conspirators would be pariahs, not getting invitations from a media outlet to broadcast excuses for themselves.

Perle’s main excuse for cheerleading the war was that “everybody” had intelligence saying that Iraq had WMDs. In other words, yes he was wrong, but so was everyone else. Gee Dick, could the misinformation purposefully cultivated and disseminated by people like yourself have had anything to do with that? These people weren’t true believers who were later proved wrong by the weapons inspectors. They were lying in the run up to the war and they absolutely had to have known it.

The assertion that there was believable intelligence that Saddam had WMDs is laughable on its face. The US government was supposedly sharing its so-called intelligence with the UN weapons inspectors and the result was that Hans Blix, et al. chased their tail around Iraq for months on end - because the intelligence was bogus and nothing was there!
