..PNAC the blueprint for Imperialism (Project fro a New American Century)
MEMORANDUM TO: OPINION LEADERS FROM: TOM DONNELLY, Deputy Executive Director SUBJECT: Iraq

George W. Bush came to office declaring he would “defend America’s interests in the Persian Gulf” by reviving “the vision” of his father’s “Gulf War coalition.” But more was promised. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and Deputy Secretary Paul Wolfowitz were signatories to a May 1998 letter, sponsored by the Project for the New American Century, calling for the establishment of a provisional, free government in those areas of northern and southern Iraq not under Saddam’s control. The letter also argued that U.S. and allied military forces should be prepared to support the Iraqi opposition and “be prepared…to help remove Saddam from power.” Likewise, the Republican Party platform demanded “a comprehensive plan for the removal of Saddam Hussein from power.” - emphasis added
And more "reporting" from William Kristol included within PNAC
In recent weeks, the president had made it clear that the “war on terrorism” is made even more urgent by the fact that terrorist states such as Iraq are actively developing nuclear, biological and chemical weapons. The nexus of terrorism and weapons of mass destruction makes the removal of Saddam key to success in the overall war on terrorism, and a matter of considerable urgency. This letter should reassure the Bush Administration that there will be bipartisan politcal support for the president when he moves on to the next crucial phase of the war.
Why Iraq? If Saddam stays in power, the war on terrorism will have failed.
This is the GOP falsely linking Saddam to OBL
And there is evidence of an
    alliance. For example, there are
    numerous reports that Saddam’s
henchmen were reaching out to bin
Laden as early as the early 1990s,
So since weapons of mass destruction failed as the excuse and links between OBL & Saddam Husein were false.. spreading freedom and Democracy is the latest pseudo justification.

A whole neo-con platform entirely built of lies from beginning to end. And all the death and cost - for what? The GOP never actually honestly say

     - no way this whitewashing that's happening today can go unchallenged. It's too dangerous

Thx MB - this post really cuts right through the BS and straight to it imo
