of your other excellent pieces. The cynic in me says it won't because it is uplifting and sheds light, as you say your friend does, on something most people focus far too little attention on, human good will and kindness. The fact is, too, that many U.S. citizens (including in military service) do good based on who they are and what they believe but also on behalf of the nation and government they serve. Lots of great (and necessary) writing here focuses on the often ludicrous actions pursued and supported by our government, as well as those actions' tragic consequences. We do need to hear about the more humane, decent and dedicated individuals who show a much more positive face to other nations on behalf of their (and our) own. Thank you.
