      most assassinations of prison personnel are accomplished with a homemade knife.  The individual that shot Clements wasn't a prisoner and had a gun.

      •  Agreed, but even so a hit is unlikely (0+ / 0-)

        to be affected by gun laws.  This doesn't appear to be either a random mass shooting, nor necessarily involve a potentially proscribed weapon.  When I was in college a local politician was assassinated in a Burger Kin in my neighborhood (likely for anti-organized crime activities) despite being in a country with stringent gun control laws and nothing akin to the 2nd amendment.  My point s just that this sort of killing tends to be an inappropriate example to use to argue for gun control. I should clarify that while I do support the 2nd Amendment, I have no issue problem any of the proposed measures that the Democrats are trying (probably unsuccessfully) to implement.
