  •  "Balanced" Budget Only a Government Concern (3+ / 0-)

The issue about a "balanced" budget exists only when government spending is discussed.  No private sector enterprise ever runs a "balanced" budget the way the Republicans and teahadists want to apply the term.  Even well-run, profitable enterprises manage some debt in their mix of financing, which would be "deficit" spending under Republican definitions.  Even better, those enterprises use the debt to improve their overall profitability.  It all depends on why the debt is being incurred and just which programs are being supported.  Republicans deliberately try to conflate all government spending with consumption spending so that they can make the claim about government debt.  In other words, the Republican debt ballyhoo is a fraud like so much of the rest of their policies.
