  •  I've been hunting for documentation (0+ / 0-)

of specific harms done by the sequester.  I already had the ones you linked to, but thanks for pointing them out again.

If anyone reading this has further examples, I'd appreciate links.  I'm engaged elsewhere in some arguments with wingnuts claiming the sequester won't do any real harm because "waste fraud and abuse, blah blah blah ..."

next month.  There are a shitload of my conservative neighbors who are going to be hit with furlough....living in a military-teat-sucking state like South Carolina, there are a lot of people who work FOR the government without ever being IN the service.

They all talk the same way.  Wait until their furlough letter shows up.....

      pretty hard

here's a link that predicts the effects - of course, it will be months in before hard documentation can be give that this actually happened.

By which time, presumably, the Repubs count on no one paying attention any more.

      •  Yeah, unfortunately the administration (0+ / 0-)

somewhat overplayed their hand with regards to the effects of sequester.  Lost in all the dire forecasts was the fact that this is a slow-rolling disaster, not a first-day collapse.

I'm not saying they totally ignored that point, but they didn't make it too clear either.

Had a list of small airports whose control towers were going to be shut down, among those listed was Ohio State University's Don Scott Field. They may be able to appeal the closing as they are the origination point for LifeFlight and military training exercises.

reconciliation. The reason the GOP is focused on the tours rather than real suffering their sequestration is causing is who it effects. The rank and file voters don't get free tickets to the White House tours, the deep pocket constituents do. The GOP will be desperate to cut a deal before cuts hit defense contractors. Until then, they won;t give a damn about who gets hurt; veterans, serving armed forces, students, elderly, poor, etc. -- 'you people' as Anne Romney calls us.
