  •  There was brief talk of (2+ / 0-)

building wind facilities off NY's north coast, in Lake Ontario near Rochester.
And then there was silence, after a few of the predictable and silly letters to the editor bemoaning ruining the scenic nature of the lake shore and the possibility of birds flying into the turning blades of the wind mills.

I wonder if the local energy interests had anything to say about it. If I could afford the initial investment of erecting a windmill on my land, I'd do it. Anything that would clean the environment and lower energy costs is fine with me.

Right now, the energy issue that is garnering the most attention here is hydrofracking. It's a battle of which I wish Governor Cuomo was on the cleaner, water-protecting side. Alas, he is but a shadow of his father.

nonindustrial viewsheds. Even plain and common ones.

We're well down the road-to-heck-paved-with-various-intentions with cell towers, however. And yet we do not have universal reception in rural areas.

      Thump! Bang. Whack-boing. It's dub!
