  •  Thanks (6+ / 0-)

It's not a big quilt; dimensions are 41"x41". It's from a beginning quilt class. I chose the pink & light green color scheme to match my bedroom comforter. I fell in love with Verna Mosquera's large scale poppy floral fabric, and used it as my focus fabric.  I have actually met her at the huge Pacific International Quilt Festival Show. She is really nice and lives in the SF East Bay

non-quilters: The border fabric is the focus fabric. All the other fabrics in the quilt should coordinate or live happily with the focus fabric in a quilt.

You're unique most folks think quilts are for blankets or comforters not art pieces.

    •  My sis is a fiber artist, she and I go to a show (6+ / 0-)

every year in Auburn NY, Quilts = Art = Quilts.   Over the last decade, the quilts have gone from art, bedding and clothing to exclusively being wall art at that show.

Still, the one I remember most was an all white, hand quilted, king size coverlet type quilt.  The patterns in the quilting were florals and swirls, and the quilted lines only about 1/4 inch apart, except for the flowers.

It wasn't what the show was about, I don't think it won a prize, but it won my heart; it must have taken the artist thousands of hours to make all those tiny stitches, and her design was beauty from the heart.

If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever. &
