    Psychotic Reactions and Carburetor Dung, a collection of his work, still sells. And has the winning subtitle, Rock 'n' Roll as Literature and Literature as Rock 'n' Roll.

    He has such a rambling, romantic, contentious style that many budding critics try to imitate him, and they mostly fall on their faces. If you aim for Hemingway's style, and make it part of the way, you've at least tightened and clarified your writing. If you aim for Bangs, odds are you'll end up with mush.
