I read of at least one girl who tried to stop the victim from getting into the car with boys and was angrily told off by the girl. There probably were others. But remember, the victim was too drunk to fully realize what she was doing by going along with the stuff, and so, too drunk to accept help.

The whole point of the legal case is that the victim was too drunk (and too young) to give informed consent.

Have you ever tried to get someone who is dead drunk to stop drinking and misbehaving? Good luck with that.

Dare I say, the offending boys were no doubt drunk themselves. In fact, I wonder, was there any witness at any point of the long night who was sober?
