    ...Popé, a leader from the Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo, actually revolted. But, of course, that was against the Spanish in 1680, a century before there was a United States or any Anglos had made their way into what is now New Mexico. So he's a safe choice. But Captain Jack of the Modoc, Manuelito of the Navajo, Standing Bear of the Ponca, Peter MacQueen of the Creeks — these guys are out of the question.
