  •  ain't that the truth... (8+ / 0-)

snyder desperately wants to move to the center in order to have a chance at re-election and the legislature ain't gonna let him do it. Brilliant move!

    •  How do you know that this move (7+ / 0-)

is not all orchestration and conspiracy between Snyder and GOP legislators?

At a most basic level we have a Governor who prefers to lie.   Nothing about what Snyder says, does or doesn't do can be taken at face value as everything Snyder says or does is for an effect and for a result which is never shared by Snyder.

      The 100% deception Governor.

"I'm a moderate. See what I tried to do and they wouldn't let me?  Give me another term and I'll be even more moderate.  You can trust me!"

gotta better idea, ricky... let's just get rid of you.

Snyder could simply be a weak governor whom most of his own party doesn't take seriously except as a necessary instrument.

Now, I'm not saying that Snyder doesn't bear a lot of responsibility for what's going on in Michigan and he is pretty much a business conservative. But this is the second time in a month or so that the legislature has sabotaged a significant priority of his administration (the transportation bill being the other).

I'm thinking more and more, based on discussions I've had with others in other forums, that Snyder doesn't carry the weight with the legislature that you think he would.
