is what they want to see out of Washington. http://www.gallup.com/...

72%. Polls have it regularly at 60-80% of "don't touch the safety-net."

Since, here on Real Earth, whatever deficit problems we have come from the huge percentage of un- and underemployed people -- somewhere between 1 of 6 to 1 of 4, depending on who counts -- you'd think that responding to the Republicans "oh, the sky is falling the deficit is killing us" with "And that's why we have to have massive stimulus to get Jobs going" ...

...seriously, does a person even need a brain to see the path to Electoral Dominance, a Better America for Everyone, AND a balanced budget.

Just can't figure out where the hell the Party's Leadership have their heads. It's like they are doing/not doing whatever they can to keep the Republicans in the game; a viable competitor.

When the right things to do, the right conversations to insist upon, are so obvious, and so obviously political winners. On top of actually working.

What the hell is going on?

If Republicans said every 3rd person named "Smith" should hang, we'd bargain them to every 7th. Then we'll see apologia written praising this most pragmatic compromise. There's our losing formula.

they won the majority back. so in their narrow worldview, that's what the people want. Presidential election? What presidential election? It was that libural from Massachusetts who lost the race, not us.
