granted...or at least for the next $10.00 they want from ya.  Has anybody else noticed the minimum dollar amount keeps creeping higher? My bank acct meanwhile, goes in the opposite direction.  And I agree that money corrupts.  Power corrupts--add $$ and the corruption seems exponential.

I think the ancient Greeks had the right idea: everybody takes a turn at governing. (Well, every free male, that is, so we'd need to adjust accordingly.) I guess it's the idea behind term limits and smaller government which people are for until they're out of a posh assignment (cough, John McCain, cough). And please, lets hold Rand Paul and Ted Cruz up to their own standards.  I'll shell out my meagerly pittance to help mirror their hypocrisy.

Failing to vote out the crazy, I think our only hope is to take out the revolving door between serving in Congress, lobbying, and regulatory oversite (and yes, I mean people like you Jim DeMint and Evan Bayh.) And governors who fit this mold (slimy slithering sadsacks like Walker and the golem in Florida.  Actually, Rick Scott gives golems a bad name.)

The GOP likes to hold up Greece as a bad example and scare tactic.  Maybe we should shift the focus to the mad as hell Greek citizens taking to the streets.  Maybe that's what it will take.
