  •  marykk this comment, like so many of your comments (8+ / 0-)

is in my opinion, made without any grounding or understanding of the relevant history.

You seem to think that if something seems logical to you, then presto, that is what has to be and you just keep on arguing your theoretical point, without any, I repeat, any deep history and knowledge of how the rcxch has functioned and apparently has functioned.

There are several commenters who present history to back up their points, yet you dismiss them because 'it doesn't seem logical to you'..... such as,

    Let's reserve judgment
on his performance as pope until he actually, you know, performs as pope.
You derail threads, such as this one, with your repetition of your 'logical assumptions' (can't predict how someone will behave based on their past behavior) and ignore any logic, information to the contrary.

argues that because the author finds fault with O'Malley, Mother Teresa and others that therefore Francis will be a bad pope.  That is, imho, a logical flaw.

Kind of like saying that the POTUS came from Chicago and is therefore expected to behave like "Fast Eddie" Vrdolyak.

I have not denied history.   I am well aware of history. I just don't like to leap to conclusions or engage in pile-ons.

    •  excuse me, but marykk (6+ / 0-)

happens to have an excellent point. imo of course.

i mean, comments like this here at dKos is a little like the pot calling the kettle black.

despite RECENT history, many of us here are still blathering on about electing Dems to fight the collapse of western culture and ensure our little league springs and our home-for-the-holidays with Macy's lives.

keyrist... while this essay gives one much to consider while observing the new pope (a good thing), i'd have to say that marykk is correct: let's see what happens. let's give it a few more weeks, shall we? and we can all make up our own minds.
