    At least in America. A lot of his activities and preaching in Buenos Aires consist of "class warfare" on behalf of the poor and downtrodden. He has railed against government policies that widen the gap between the haves and the have-nots, the rich and the poor.

    With that kind of a track record, he may be speaking out for millions of impoverished Americans soon, and I don't mean just Catholics.

      Your depiction of Bergoglio as "railing against gov't policies that widen the gap between haves and have-nots" doesn't square with everything I've read thus far. The U.S. bishops have consistently written letters in favor of "impoverished Americans" while throwing all their resources into electing Republicans. Pope Francis is not going to change that otherwise he wouldn't have been elected.
