When some people give up on 'real' money and start using virtual currencies like the Bitcoin because money tracking is a means of social control, it's only a small step for people to realise that social control goes farther than obvious examples like drug policy.
People worldwide have given up on politics as being a broken system. They are beginning to give up on Capitalism, not because they don't believe in free enterprise, but because they know the game is rigged in favour of the house, be it government, corporations, or a toxic combination of both. When they finally give up on their monetary system, and start seriously looking beyond gold, which has the disadvantage of being a hoarding mechanism, not a medium of exchange, then it will be obvious that faith in the current system has finally gone belly up.

control have a hard time recognizing it.
On the other hand, I also think that some of the people who depend on social control, have no alternative. The do not know how anything works or why. They recognize those words as signalling questions and they answer, but they do not know what they are talking about. They spout the equivalent of stock answers which, like the images coughed up by Google, may or may not be relevant.
Letting such people be deciders is where disaster lurks.
