    .....Anne Frank: The Biography by Melissa Müller (original German title: Das Mädchen Anne Frank).
    According to Müller -- Otto Frank already spoke Dutch, and the girls "Margot and Anne) were young enough to adapt quickly to the new setting and language. Although Edith Frank was well-educated, language was not her forté. She struggled with the language during the family's years in Amsterdam. Fortunately for her, the family was living in an enclave among other German immigrants.
    I can't recommend this book highly enough. IIRC, it contains the only in-depth critical and biographical documentation of Edith Frank (née Holländer).
