    Drug Decriminalization in Portugal:
Lessons for Creating Fair and Successful Drug Policies

Glenn Greenwald wrote this essay published in 2009.

The essay and follow on presentations have been important in this debate.

Some will take any chance they can to criticize Glenn. This was a project funded by the Cato Institute.

Glenn has never been on staff there. He has done possibly two projects for them. He has spoken there for free.

So when someone writes that Glenn is related to Cato and we can dismiss anything he says, this will put that comment in context.

Glenn notes that he is dealing with issues that are outside the mainstream political consensus. He will work with groups based on common issues to get the word out. That is why he reported on the Paul's because they were providing views that put in stark relief the official power system message.

The more one dissents from political orthodoxies, the more the attacks focus on personality, style and character
