    Upon his death in 1955, his son, John Dingell, Jr., won the special election to succeed him.

    Here's a wacky thought: maybe the voters of the area will think that 80+ years of one family representing them in Congress is enough.

      I don't think the people of Massachusetts are sick of being represented by Kennedys, and that has been the case for nearly as long.

        Usually for every voter who's sick of political dynasties, you have two who prefer a familiar name brand. The only exceptions are GW Bush-style meltdowns.
