    If you're not actually quoting what was actually said.There was no "far left"in that mention of Seattle's culture. Making shit up is exactly what the diarist is talking about.

      Read the very first sentence following the image.  

      This is clearly meant to inflame people and turn them against Starbucks and the far left culture of Seattle.
      I'm not agreeing with the commenter, just pointing out that he is indeed quoting the diarist.

          In fact, it's a grammar faux pas that drives me up one wall and down the other.  Quotation marks are used to delineate quoted material, not to identify sarcasm or to criticize the text inside the quotation as dubious.

          Argh!  I know that this misconception has become common but it drives me nuts, and even worse, it degrades the value of the quotation mark entirely, if people can no longer mentally trust it to mean what it normally means.
