    but the Xenoturbella one was great fun and reminded me of another weird organism, Trichoplax. An even earlier weee beastie, Trichoplax has different cells types and layers of cells, but only one real axis, top and bottom: no front/back, left/right. It looks like a badly poured pancake and if you turn it upside down, it flips back over. If you cut it in half along any diameter, the wound heals and you get two of them.

    Life is weird.

      recognize those weird creatures.  The story really caught my eye but that was my only association with the species.  Trichoplax sounds like another intriguing species.  Thanks for sharing.
