    PA, and my father from western MD, and I think they both said "laying."  Seems nowadays everyone I know says "sticking."

      "Sticking" is what I always called it and what I remember everyone else calling it.  "Laying" made me sit up and take notice. The commenter used it twice, saying it wasn't laying where she was, but they could see that it was laying on the hill across the valley.

      What struck me was that it's common next door to me, in CT, and I'd never heard it. It has a nice sound to it.
