It behooves any diarist  who has been writing about a difficult topic to assume that most readers haven't read previous diaries.

I have no problem with Long Diaries as long as the story is compelling. I'm also guilty of being to wordy in my comments too. The use of graphic time lines should be encouraged. In fact Daily Kos should either allow image slicing with links or provide a set of online tools. A picture does  far more to keep people informed. If people want to go for detail they can hit the links provided on the timeline.

Another way to do this is use a common function in Business plans and in many court pleadings where there is a summary description of the content  and then underneath the detail is provided.

Providing links or quotations from previous diaries are also important as a minimum to bring a new reader into the story.

It does get tiresome to have to repeat oneself endlessly, but I have found frustration levels are much higher when we assume previous knowledge where there is none.

On the face of it , your case looks interesting. I suppose the best way to address this is , would you present information like this in a court filing to a judge who has no previous knowledge of the subject matter much less your individual interest in it?
